What's Going on with NC2!

I made it finally! Selected as a 1st Class Petty Officer! This is so exciting! Took me awhile, but the route I had to do it took a little bit longer. Now, on active duty as a single mom, working 2 jobs and going to school for my Masters! Life is great and my career is taking off beautifully!

What a wonderful year to be in the Navy! This year has been incredible so far. I finished my degree in May, and I am starting on my Masters degree program this month. Even better, I got selected for CRF as a Hometown Classifier! So now I am NC2 Martin! This has been an incredible month so far! I am accomplishing my goals and working diligently to continue knocking out more goals. My next step is making NC1 and getting my Masters degree. I appreciate all the great comments from all my website visitors and friends! Without all your love and support, I wouldn't be where I am today! Thank you!! NC2 Martin

Wow.. this is it... my time with the University of Phoenix Online is over.. Its been a very long 7 years of struggle, challenges, happiness, sadness and everything in between. I don't regret the extra 3 years it has taken, as I wouldn't be where I am today without it. Besides my children, this is one of the biggest commitments I have ever seen through to the end. Its over, but I believe my journey has just begun. As a matter of fact, I'm looking into Masters programs that will help me accomplish all my goals of being a success in life. Already, I feel I am one; as a Mother, as a Sailor, as a Daughter and now as a College Graduate! My parents will be truly be proud of me, as they are both College professors!

I did it! I've overcome the odds and I made it through the greatest journey so far in my life, (Besides parenthood!!)

Thank you for all who believed in me and supported me along the way!!

Hello Site Visitors! I'm here, alive and kicking! I know I haven't been online updating this site as much as I used to, but its mainly because its just tough being me sometimes! A single mom, working 2 jobs, going to school full-time is exhausting!! Not to mention maintaining 2 Non-Navy endorsed websites on my free time! But its been fun, and I'm almost finished with school! I have only 5 weeks left and I will have my Bachelor's degree! I've gone to college for 7 years and finally, I will be able to really feel like I finished something I started. This past year has been crazy! My son, went into Youth Challenge the beginning of January 2008 and joined the Army July 2008. He is now stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and doing well. So at home now, its just my daughter and I. I'm trying my hardest to juggle everything, and sometimes I just can't tend to my site like I want, but things are slowing down for me, and I have more time now! YAY!! So for those who may have volunteered but were never listed, please be patient as I will be getting everyone listed on this site the month of March! Thanks again for the wonderful letters and the opportunity to continue to provide you one on my "favorite" websites... NavyGirl.com!  ~Marta

I thought I would add this page as to explain to my visitors what's going on in my life. I am still a single mom, living in New Orleans but alot has been going on in my life, but I'm still dedicated to maintaining this website every chance possible.  I am still pursuing college and am almost ready to graduate... I have 2 more classes til I get my Bachelor's degree! I am also focusing alot of attention to my www.nrdqa.com site which is for my job (which ends in November). I try to update my sites whenever I can, in between work, school, family life, volunteering and taking care of my family's needs.

So, I am going to diligently continue this website in hopes that I am able to be led in the direction towards my ultimate goals in life!

v/r,

YN2 Martin
