WHAT'S HAPPENING: NMCI has begun the installation of IBM Lotus Sametime

Connect. It's an Instant Messaging Client for use on the NMCI network. It

should be installed on your NMCI machine already and if it is not it will be

soon. BuRAS users may need to perform a Radia update at a hard wire site if

they do not have it yet.

INSTRUCTIONS: Use the info below to set up your account and begin using the

client if you or your chain of command wishes to take advantage of the

service. We have also attached a guide that will help get you started.

The DISA Net-Centric Enterprise Service (NCES) e-CollabCenter provides a

variety of robust collaboration tools including Instant Messaging, Web

Conferencing, and Persistent Chat Rooms. The Instant Messaging feature is

primarily used to locate and text message with registered users across the

DoD. Web Conferencing allows you to incorporate audio and video

capabilities into conferences along with tools such as slide sharing, screen

sharing, and white boarding. You even have the capability to invite

non-registered users into Web Conferences by simply forwarding them the Web

Conference link and password. Persistent Chat Rooms allow you to post and

retrieve text chat, files, and bookmarks from other users; they include the

capability to search through all content within the current Chat Room.

1. Registering with E-CollabCenter will allow you to use IBM Sametime

(i.e., Button 1) for instant messaging and web conferencing.

Follow the steps at this link to register for an account.

2. After registering, You will receive an e-mail from e-CollabCenter

confirming that they have created your account. Do not delete this e-mail as

contains your user ID.

You will also receive an e-mail from e-CollabCenter confirming that your

account is ready to use. Do not delete this e-mail as it contains your

temporary password.

Follow the login directions noted in the e-mail to begin using

E-CollabCenter then proceed to Log In to Sametime Connect. The following

link provides info on how to log onto IBM Lotus Sametime once you have your

user name and password.
